This 1980s Old Town Camper canoe became my lockdown project in 2020. I purchased the old royalex canoe shell off Ebay with intentions of fully restoring and using the boat. Using wood from old gym bleachers, I made gunnels and furniture for the boat. This project was time consuming and at times somewhat frustrating, but extremely rewarding. I have always had a great love for the outdoors, but paddling and camping the rivers and lakes of North Georgia/North Carolina in this boat has quickly become one of my favorite pastimes.
