About Me

Hi, my name is Ben Sellers. I’m a senior at the University of North Georgia and my two biggest passions are the outdoors and technical theatre. My first passion was founded by the countless camping trips my father and I went on when I was younger. Whenever time allows I try to take a weekend to camp or take a canoe trip down the river with friends. My second passion stems from a high-school theatre production I was a part of. I was asked to be the lighting designer for Eurydice by Sara Ruhl. The collaboration, teamwork, creative outlet, and challenge this show provided was something that made me fall in love with theatre. This led me to the decision of pursuing theatre professionally. In 2018 I moved to Gainesville GA to pursue a BFA in Design and Technology at the Gainesville Theatre Alliance (GTA). I quickly got connected and involved at the school as I wanted to further my knowledge in technical theatre. My education has led me to a Technical Director position at a local church, and many smaller technical gigs in and around the Gainesville area. It is my goal to keep my two passions at the center of my life along with the family and friends I cherish.
